I'm just curious where the "give" would be with the transmission having a fixed yoke. Driveshaft length changes with suspension movement and frame flex. Even a few thousandths of an inch difference would put a lot of pressure on the tail shaft or carrier bearing or rear end or whatever the driveshaft is connected to.

WebOct 16, 2002 · I torked the pinion nut to 140 ft lbs and made my first pre-load measurement. It was below 10 in lbs. I kept going all the way up to 175 ft lbs, and I still have below 10 in lbs. The reading in inch lbs has not really changed with all the torqing.
